A jury consisting of experts from economy, politics and media nominates the finalists. The Innovation and Growth Prize of the State of Hessia is awarded in the categories "World market leader", "Job engine" and "Innovation". Hessen Trade & Invest GmbH is responsible for the coordination of the competition. During the award ceremony in the Wiesbaden Kurhaus, Hessia’s Minister of Economics Tarek Al-Wazir, patron of the Hessen Champions competition, congratulated Axel Muntermann, Managing Director of MedTec Medizintechnik GmbH, on the company’s impressive result and presented him with certificate and prize. "This award is a reward for the efforts we made in the past 20 years. As manufacturer of patented medical technology with a unique selling point, we have created something that nobody else in the world can offer. An innovation in medical technology should improve the world and at the same time improve the quality of life of many people," says Managing Director Axel Muntermann about the award.

9 Hessian companies have reached the final of the "Hessen Champions 2018" competition this year. This was announced by the Hessian Ministry of Economics, Energy, Transport and Housing (HMWEVL), the Vereinigung der hessischen Unternehmerverbände (VhU) and the Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Hessen (MBG H) in Wiesbaden. The jury selected the finalists from a total of 61 candidates. MedTec Medizintechnik GmbH succeeded in being one of the three finalists in the category World market leader".

"Hessia’s economy is developing dynamically and offers employment for an increasing number of people every year," says Minister of Economics Tarek Al-Wazir. "This is above all a success for the Hessian companies and their employees. We are delighted about the many innovative entrepreneurs who ensure that Hessia is at the forefront of international competition. It is them that we want to honor with this award."

"Our Hessian companies are not only innovators who open up the future but just as much they are competitive businesses who work for an increase of prosperity for everyone in Hessia and also value-driven solidarity groups, operational alliances in the interests of stakeholders: investors as well as customers, suppliers and employees," added VhU President Wolf Matthias Mang.

"All 61 participants can tell a success story. The 9 finalists are already winners because they have prevailed in this tough competitive environment of outstanding entrepreneurs," explained Jürgen Zabel, Managing Director of MBG H. "We are very pleased with the results of the competition."

The Innovation and Growth Award of the State of Hessia is awarded in the categories "World market leader", "Job engine" and "Innovation". The winners are selected by a jury containing representatives from economy, politics and media. State Premier Volker Bouffier, Minister of Economics Tarek Al-Wazir and VhU President Wolf Matthias Mang honour the winners in front of more than 1000 guests at the Hessian Entrepreneurs Day on October 30 in the Wiesbaden Kurhaus. With the "Hessen Champions", the Ministry of Economics, the VhU and MBG H are honouring special entrepreneurial successes. The award is already being presented for the 18^th time. Hessen Trade & Invest GmbH is responsible for the coordination of the competition.
